TO ESCAPE PHOTOGRAPHER
HOW IT STARTED
About eight years ago, our family rented
the beautiful stylish boutique villa Marilove in the Dordogne, France,
via Lydia Mennes, owner of booking site France Villa.

As a hobby photographer at that time, I couldn’t resist capturing the villa during our vacation.
When I was back home, I sent the photos along with a review of our stay to Lydia. She was thrilled by all the images she received!

QUESTION
You captured the vacation home so beautiful and atmospheric but above all really through the eyes of my dream guest, she said.
She noticed immediately that with photos like these on her website she could help her clients get more bookings.
And then, she asked me to come to France to do photo shoots at some ESCAPES she had in her portfolio.

ROUTE
A few months later, in September 2015,
I booked a flight to the Dordogne in France and drove for a week in my rental car over country roads, through medieval villages to the most beautiful hideaways to photograph them.
At each accommodation I stayed one night as a guest to experience and to capture the ESCAPE hospitality.
And that’s how my story began and when I found my dream job!

In the years that followed, I travelled a lot to France to photograph ESCAPES.
Not only for France Villa but also for a lot of Dutch and English accommodation owners.
Often it was a gîte, chambre ‘d hote, boutique hotel or chateau, lovingly restored by its owners.
